I'M OPENING MY OWN STUDIO

I'M OPENING THE BEAUTY FACTORY ON MAY 30!

THE BEAUTY FACTORY SPRINGFIELD MO

YOU'VE HAD SUCCESS IN THE TRADITIONAL SALON SETTING, WHY GO OFF AND MAKE YOUR OWN THING?

I’ve been doing hair for almost two decades. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do. As a child, I never pictured myself in a traditional salon environment. I’m an old, quiet soul. I’ve grown professionally to the point of being able to make something that is more conducive to my creativity. I’ve learned techniques that need the latest tools and those tools take up space. Photography is a big part of getting my work out there for others to see what I do. I needed a space for special lighting. Finally, it’s easier for me to control the salon environment when it’s my own space rather than a shared space.

WHAT KIND OF ENVIRONMENT WILL YOUR SALON HAVE?

The Beauty Factory offers a natural environment with a heavy focus on organic or naturally derived products that align with the organic and sustainable lifestyle. I’ve designed a studio where I have the space and the tools to create beautiful hair while also being a source of naturally derived hair care products and a resource for holistic lifestyle.

Guests of the Factory have a revolving selection of beverage choices that include organic coffee, Yerba Mate, Alkaline water, Kombucha, water kefir, coconut water, coconut chia water, and whatever else I’m in the mood to make.

I get quiet when I create and most of my guests know this. You draw people to you who are like you. In that regard, I wanted to create a space that I would love because I know my guests will like it, too.

WHAT STEPS HAVE YOU TAKEN TO ENSURE YOUR STUDIO IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

THE BEAUTY FACTORY is proud to be Springfield, Missouri's first Green Circle Certified Salon.

THE BEAUTY FACTORY is proud to be Springfield, Missouri's first Green Circle Certified Salon.

The color line I use and the products I carry are either organic or naturally derived. I’ve also started my own line of skin and hair products made entirely from top quality organic ingredients. I’ve been making my own products for years and this is the perfect opportunity for me to offer a few of them to my guests.

I’m the fourth salon in the State of Missouri and the very first salon in the city of Springfield to become Green Circle Certified. This is one of the factors I’m most proud of. This means that I’ll be recycling the salon waste instead of dumping back into the environment. When you throw something away, it doesn’t just disappear. It goes into a pile of other waste and becomes part of a much bigger and grossly ignored problem. I think it’s my responsibility as a human living on this planet to make a positive difference in my own circle of influence.

WHERE IS THE BEAUTY FACTORY LOCATED?

It's located inside Sola Salons at 3636 S. Campbell Ave., Studio 24, Springfield, MO 65807.

If you're driving by Starbucks on South Campbell at night, look back behind it to see that little pink light in the window. That's me saying, "Hi."

WHEN DO YOU OFFICIALLY OPEN?

My first day is May 30th. When we all go back to work after Memorial Day, I’ll be starting my new chapter.

HOW DO YOUR GUESTS SET APPOINTMENTS?

OPENING SOON

You set appointments using the same online format I started back in February. The only thing that changes is the appointment location. All contact is through the website, and I’ve taken many steps to preempt problems or questions so that my guests can confidently manage their hair appointments.

DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

No. I prefer to meet my guests prior to their first appointment. A walk-in client isn’t typically one who stays with one hairdresser. They go with whoever is available. For me, and the way I manage my guest’s hair, it’s a relationship that gets better with time. You won’t get the benefits of me as your stylist if you don’t take the time to develop that mutual trust. I prefer to have quality over quantity and I’ve work hard to establish just that.
